Little Loftys is pleased to be able to offer families both the Childcare Subsidy (CSS) and the NSW Start Strong Funding.
Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a federal government payment that helps reduce the cost of childcare. To be eligible, you must meet residency and immunisation requirements, have a child 6 or younger who is not yet in primary school, and enrol your child at Little Loftys which is an approved childcare service. The amount of subsidy you receive is based on your combined family income, the number of children you have, and the amount of time you and your partner spend in recognized activities.
Your CCS is paid directly to Little Loftys to lower your fees.
Your combined family income determines your subsidy rate. From 7 th July, 2025, families earning up to $85,279 receive the maximum 90% subsidy. For families earning between $85,279 and $535,279, the subsidy decreases by 1% for every $5,000 over $85,279. Families with incomes over $535,279 are not eligible.
The number of hours you and your partner spend in work or other recognized activities impacts your subsidy.
The subsidy is paid directly to Little Loftys, which reduces the fees you pay upfront.
You may receive a higher rate for your second and younger children if your income is below $367,563.
Your child must meet immunization requirements.
From January 5, 2026, the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Activity Test will be removed and replaced by the 3-Day Guarantee, meaning families no longer need to meet an activity test to receive at least 3 days (72 hours) of subsidised care per fortnight. Eligibility for the 3-Day Guarantee depends on being a CCS-eligible family, with some exceptions for First Nations families who may receive 100 hours per fortnight.
The previous requirement for families to work, study, or volunteer for a certain number of hours to receive subsidy will be eliminated.
All eligible families will automatically receive at least 72 hours of subsidised care per fortnight, per child.
Families no longer need to prove their activity level to receive this base level of subsidy.
Families with First Nations children can get up to 100 hours of subsidised care per fortnight.
The new guarantee will not affect families who already receive 100 hours of CCS.

Start Strong is a New South Wales Government initiative designed to make preschool education more affordable and accessible for families. It forms part of the Affordable Preschool Program, which aims to support children in the years before they begin primary school.
What funding can families receive?
Eligible families may receive fee relief on top of their Child Care Subsidy (CCS):
This funding is applied directly to your fees and reduces your out-of-pocket costs after CCS is taken into account.
Once your child is enrolled, our team will provide you with the Start Strong 2026 application form. After you complete and return the form, we will apply the Start Strong funding to your account on a fortnightly basis.
